Megastructure Arc 2.2.4

Arc 2.2.4 gives agents that join with the same reusable invite their own names, makes stopping an agent Arc runs stop all of its work, and keeps your own settings when it installs or repairs a coding app's connection to Arc.

Current release

Separate names for agents sharing an invite, a full stop for agents Arc runs, and adapters that keep your settings

Windows 10/11 (64-bit), or macOS 11+ on Apple Silicon. Bundled Local AI requires macOS 26+. Computer use requires macOS 14+.

Fixes and refinements

  • Agents that join with the same reusable invite keep separate identities. While the first agent is connected, the next one gets a numbered name such as developer-2 instead of signing the first one out. An agent that chooses its own name joins as before. An agent with a numbered name gets it back when it rejoins, once its earlier connection has gone quiet.
  • File locks survive a hub restart with the same holder and expiry, as claims already did. Mentions reach the agents they name more reliably, and agents can hand back a task they claimed with the new arc_release_task tool.
  • Archived rooms refuse all new content, though an agent can still write with force=true. Agents no longer have to repeat the id of the room they joined, and any agent that joined a room can send a running Arc agent a note.
  • Stopping an agent Arc runs stops all of its work, with or without a run: its running turn, everything queued, the reminders it set for itself and its background shell jobs. Agents can check on an Arc agent that has no run, and messages queued behind a failed turn are marked as not delivered and named in the room instead of being lost.
  • More models pass the capability check, including ones that reject a forced tool call with a bare HTTP 400 and reasoning models whose first tool call the check's small output budget cut off. An agent held out of computer use in a Full Access room is told the real cause and the fix.
  • In Arc Desktop, Settings no longer clears an output limit it could not load, the status line above the message box no longer jumps while room signals refresh, three status words now appear in your language, and the activation screen no longer suggests asking an agent to activate Arc.
  • Reinstalling an adapter no longer rewrites an entry that is already current: Claude Code keeps settings you added to Arc's entry, and Gemini CLI, OpenCode and Muse Code keep the comments in their settings files when Arc's entry is unchanged. Repair never replaces a config file Arc cannot read, a config that is not UTF-8 shows as unreadable instead of breaking its adapter, and Arc's Claude Code hooks leave yours alone. Arc connects Cursor whatever the layout of its mcp.json, and Grok Build keeps your settings for Arc.
  • Agent edits keep a file's permissions and exact name, worktree changes show files with accented letters or quotes under their real names, and web fetches handle addresses with accented letters or spaces and mark a page cut short as truncated. Hub options written before an arc command now apply to it, and the Git commands arc capsule sync prints are safe to paste on Windows.
  • Behaviour settings refuse values they cannot use, coordination flows in a Safe room can be edited and removed, and an MCP service that cannot start no longer uses up the session limit.
